At AHISS we are committed to employing the very best summer school staff and each summer we have a variety of roles available. For more information on a specific role, please email us.

Closing date for all 2020 applications is Friday 13th March. Candidates for all roles should be available for the duration of the summer (21st June – 11th August 2020) and have the right to work in the UK.

Group Leaders (minimum age 18)

We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic team players to work as Group Leaders for our award-winning summer school for students aged 8-16 from all over the world.

Ideally suited for college or university students who see a future in working with young people.

The role involves working with young people from all over the world, taking part in outdoor adventure activities, English lessons, evening activities and excursions. You will help look after our students, speak to them in English and make sure that they have a great time at AHISS.

You will be acting as ambassadors, leading by example and ensuring our students are happy, included and having fun. You should be outgoing, active and friendly with lots of energy to keep up with the summer school way of life!

Welfare and Events Manager

Do you love kids and are a born entertainer? Are you experienced in leading sports and activities? Do you have experience in working with young people and managing a team? We require an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work as Welfare and Events Manager to support the Centre Management Team.

The job involves managing and timetabling our team of Group Leaders, organising and planning evening and free-time activities in line with the AHISS Summer School Programme, and overseeing student welfare.

You will be planning and preparing a range of evening activities from Scottish Ceilidh Nights to Circus Nights, welfare management, leading by example and making sure that all the students get involved and have a fantastic time at AHISS.

EFL Teachers

We are recruiting a small team of creative, dynamic, well-organised and flexible EFL teachers to work as part of our summer school team. Candidates will teach well prepared EFL classes according to our syllabus and guidelines, assist in leading activities and excursions as required. This position requires some welfare and pastoral care of the students.

Candidates should be a native level speaker of English, hold a CELTA or equivalent qualification and a university degree.

Teaching Assistant/Group Leader

This is the perfect role for anyone starting out on their TEFL career. Assisting our team of teachers, the teaching assistant/group leader will assist with lesson preparation, testing and marking and have the opportunity to teach high quality lessons supervised by our teaching team. This role also involves being part of our Group Leader team (see above), taking part in the evening activity programme and assisting on trips and excursions.

Administrator

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Administrator to assist in preparations for the Summer School and to perform administrative duties throughout the Summer School itself. The Administrator will work closely with the Course Director and Operations Manager to administer and deliver the International Summer School. The duties will be wide and varied. This is the perfect role for someone wishing to enter the education administration or international business sector.
