Spotlight on Edinburgh

Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city and is a really popular excursion for our AHISSers. We visit Edinburgh most Saturdays during the summer, and highlights include The Museum of Scotland and the shops and history of The Royal Mile.

It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.

We asked our friend Roland Becker, Edinburgh local and the Director of Inlingua Edinburgh, what it is that he loves about his home city:

“Here are 5 things I love about Edinburgh:

  • Beach in the city
  • 3 amazing, breath taking hills in the city
  • Festivals in the city (especially in Summer)
  • It’s Scotland’s Capital city
  • International, multicultural city”

And for parents wishing to improve on their English, why not take part in an English course at Inlingua Edinburgh, the city’s premier language school for adults while your child attends AHISS: https://www.inlingua-edinburgh.co.uk/
